Allergies.....

Let's face it, the older we get the more we seem to get allergic to stuff (that includes people who get on our nerves). Anyways, my aunt found out years ago that she was a celiac, along with being allergic to lactose, her daughters are also wheat-free, gluten free, dairy-free (not just lactose free). It probably runs in the family and I know that I am just a few short steps away to not being able to tolerate all that wheat myself, case in point can no longer drink beer it makes me sick, I even have to be careful of what kind of vodka I drink. Well anyways speaking of allergies, it just so happens my cat is allergic to cat food (I know that seems a little strange), but she is older now almost 10. One day I noticed she had gotten really skinny, I thought maybe she had eaten something she wasn't supposed to, but I gave her good food like eukanuba, science diet, organic store cat food, but alas she still was not gaining any weight, so I took her to the vet, and he said she had probably developed a stomach problem or had stopped absorbing the kind of normal proteins that were in cat food, so he told me to try this special science diet food (it was $25 for what normally would cost me about $5 in the amount of food). At first it didn't seem to be helping but then suddenly she started to gain a little weight. I also have a dog too, and so one day out of the blue she started eating his food (of course I freaked out after spending all this money on the cat she was now going to wreck it all by eating the dog food). Then an interesting thing happened...she was just fine, in actuality she started to gain even more weight. Go figure I started giving my cat dog food and she was just fine...Well I figured I'd just share that strange story...
